How to remove malicious sites in Chrome [ SOLVED ]
Unwanted Sites may contain HARMFUL VIRUSES or it can be a BROWSER HIJACKER like web-start.org and few phishing sites. If your default home or search page has been changed to Web-start.org or you get a lot of advertisements popping up on your PC then it is a sign that your system is infected with malicious software from the browser’s hijacker family.
What is Browser hijacking?
The Browser hijacking is a form of unwanted software that changes a Chrome, Firefox, IE, Edge‘s settings without a user’s permission, to redirect on malicious, unwanted and misleading sites. So, if you seeing that the existing home page, error page, or search page has been replaced with Web-start.org, then you do not need to wait, you need as quickly as possible following the instructions below and remove Web-start.org infection.
Follow the given steps to remove all unwanted sites from Google Chrome and Set Homepage as per your choice.
STEP 1: Press Windows Key and Search for “Google Chrome”. Right Click on it and select “Open File Location”.
STEP 2: Now Right Click on “Google Chrome” and Select “Properties” Option.
STEP 3: The "Properties" window will be opened.
STEP 4 : Now, Delete the text/links which are followed by the Google Chrome Path.
For example, if the Current Link is like this,
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe" "http://web-start.org//?ssid=1476793397 &a=1003627&src=sh&uuid=419fa757-1b8b-4e69-9969-5f8c86f81dce"
Change it to the original Path only.
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe"

STEP 5: That’s it. Just Restart your Google Chrome and it will open up your default homepage.
NOTE: If you are using Google Chrome from Taskbar, then you might face the same problem. So, follow the above mentioned Step 2 and choose “Pin to taskbar” option instead of “Properties”.
